Classic Restorations is privately owned by Jim Winslow and located in McCall, ID. Jim is the ACBS Payette Lakes Chapter President. He was in the construction business for 40 years as a building contractor and cabinet maker before he embarked into the wood boat restoration business about 10 years ago. He can build anything out of wood and has a complete wood working shop where he remanufactures all his Mahogany planking from rough sawn boards. Jim works by himself and restores about 6-8 boats a year. While his shop is modest, his work is exceptional as evidenced by the fact that Jim typically has one or more of his annual restoration projects win best of show at one of the local boat shows. Jim lives and breathes wood boats; he would rather work on a wood boat for wages and have a satisfied customer than make a lot of money turning out a lesser quality project.
